New Jersey-based health care company Johnson & Johnson is recalling 200,000 half-ounce bottles of Motrin due to the danger that they may carry shards of plastic particles, according to the Associated Press on September 7. According to the company, no injuries have yet to be reported to date.
McNeil vice president Ed Kuffner said in an interview with the Associated Press that they issued the recall because the products were obtained in the same shipment of ibuprofen, products that actually contained the particles, from a third-party supplier, and they believe that the third party supplier’s manufacturing process had something to do with why the products were tainted in the first place.
The recalled bottles have the lot numbers DCB3TO1, DDB4RO1, and DDB4SO1. Kuffner said consumers should stop using the tampered product and call them for a refund at 1-877-414-7709.
