A statement from Asiana Airlines released the information that the pilot involved in the fatal plane accident that took place at the San Francisco International Airport on Saturday, July 6 had never landed a Boeing 777 prior to that flight.
Initial assessments by the National Transportation Safety Board reported that Asiana Airlines Flight 214’s pilot tried to stop the landing just seconds before the crash. Additionally, it was reported that pilot Lee Kang-gook had already flown from Korea to San Francisco several times and had many hours of experiencing flying a Boeing 777.
Two teenagers were killed and almost 200 persons hurt in the fatal crash.
Deborah Hersman said the fatal accident is currently being investigated and all the data gathered from the plane recorder is being inspected.
