Starting in July, automaker Chrysler will be fixing 630,000 SUVs recalled due to defects in the seat belt and air bags, and transmission fluid leaks. The announcement of this recall came two days after they refused a request to recall 2.7 million Jeeps.
More than 409,000 2010 and 2012 models of Jeep Patriot and Compass small SUVs with seat belt and air bag problems and some 221,000 Jeep Wranglers with transmission fluid leaks will be recalled worldwide.
Chrysler spokesman Eric Mayne said there were no accidents reported involving the recalled vehicles.
Just recently, Chrysler denied a government request to recall 2.7 million SUVs with gas tanks placed behind the rear axle due to its risk to catch on fire.
