The 29 year-old Louisville man who struck a pedestrian and then drove off yesterday morning has been arrested by police. WDRB reports that the driver hit the pedestrian near the intersection of Interstate 265 and Beulah Church Road and drove off, hiding his damaged car in his garage.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to University Hospital still unconscious and with severe injuries, including head trauma. Officers claim the hit-and-run driver approached the scene and asked them what happened. They later found his car with bumper, hood, and windshield damage.
He has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident, first-degree assault, and driving with a suspended or revoked license. The victim is expected to recover.
