More than three dozen cars were involved in a pileup on Monday due to poor weather conditions.
The accidents occurred in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near the Crittenden exit. As visibility decreased around 12:30pm, cars began to slide and create a chain reaction. Six to eight injuries were reported due to the pileup but none have been listed as life-threatening. More than twenty vehicles had to be towed off of the interstate.
Interstate 75 southbound was shut down for nearly four hours as cars were being removed from the scene. Roads are expected to improve for later today as snow lightens up.
