The Kentucky State Police have donated $40,000 to local filmmaker, Jason Epperson, and his movie titled Impact: After The Crash. Epperson’s movie will profile one of the deadliest drunk driving accidents in history in which a drunk driver hit a bus and killed 27 people and injured 34. Upon impact, the school bus burst into flames. The accident occurred in Carrollton, Kentucky on May 14, 1988.
The money comes from the 2011 Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws program. So far the film project has raised half of its budget. Epperson plans on interviewing and speaking with the families of the victims and survivors. Epperson has teamed up with Harold Dennis, a survivor, to help share his story.
