Two men from Kentucky escaped serious injury during a plane crash that occurred in Haverville on Saturday night.
According to reports, a 56-year-old man and his 45-year-old instructor were flying a Cessna 172 F. Almost immediately after leaving the Ashland/Boyd County Regional Airport, the electrical power in the plane’s cockpit malfunctioned. The men aboard the plane reported that they heard sputtering sounds coming from the cockpit before the plane completely lost power and crashed in an open field.
The men sustained minor injuries and were treated by a local EMS. The Federal Aviation Administration is still investigating the crash.
