A Vanceburg drunk driver was air-lifted to a Columbus hospital Friday night after he crashed into a tractor trailer on AA Highway near Charters. The sheriff reports that the 43 year-old man was swerving between lanes when the accident occurred.
According to WSAZ, the intoxicated driver swerved in front of an on-coming 18 wheeler whose driver tried to avoid a collision by turning into another lane. The man crashed into the truck’s passenger-side, trapping himself inside his vehicle.
Emergency responders had to extricate him from the car. He is believed to have suffered serious injuries. No charges have been filed against him at this time but are expected at a later date.
