An early morning fire sent residents of two townhomes in Lyndon scrambling to escape. Investigators are still working to find the cause of the fire.
Two residents say they were on their couch when the fire from the fireplace suddenly spread to the walls. They were able to call 911 and notify their next door neighbor to evacuate.
The residents believe a malfunction in the fire place is to blame for the blaze, but any validity in that claim has not been proven. One townhome sustained fire damage while the neighbor’s might have some smoke damage. The neighbor, who is seven months pregnant and the mother of a young child, was concerned about smoke inhalation but did not need to go to the hospital.
