A family of three had to escape from their home in Middletown near east Louisville last Wednesday after they awoke to flames coming from their garage.
The fire began at around 3:30 a.m. A man, woman, and their 2-year-old son woke up when their smoke detectors began going off. They were all able to escape the home and go outside, where they waited for firefighters to arrive.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire, although the family’s garage and a large portion of their house were severely damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
