A motor vehicle crash at the intersection of 26th and Chestnut in Louisville, Kentucky that occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, November 17 resulted in the death of one person and the injury of another.
The Metro police identified a male driver who was speeding in his Monte Carlo north on 26th Street, causing him to crash into a female driver’s Hyundai after failing to stop at a red light. The impact caused the Hyundai to spin around and the Monte Carlo to strike a telephone pole.
According to witnesses, they weren’t able to hear tires screeching before the Monte Carlo and the Hyundai collided, which led them to believe that the driver of the Monte Carlo did not bother to hit the breaks to avoid an accident.
The male driver died at the scene of the accident, while the female was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
